On Sunday, May 20, 2012, Red Mountain UMC is organizing several projects which will impact our community and serve those in need around the world. See below for project descriptions and times. We will have teams working on all projects.
YOU can Change The World on May 20th:
In one morning, we will be packaging 10,000 meals as part of Stop Hunger Now, an international relief organization that is driven by the vision of a world without hunger. We will package dehydrated, high protein, nutritious meals into small bags that contain six servings. Every meal is fortified with 21 essential vitamins and minerals. The meals are easy to transport, have a long shelf life, and cost only $0.25 to create. All costs will be covered by donations. Make a donation for this project.
You may arrive at 7:45, 9:00, or 10:30 a.m. to begin working on this project after a short worship service.
Do you want impact OUR community? Teams will work together to clean up the banks of the Salt River just north and east of our church. Many people in the valley enjoy this water and we can help keep it clean and enjoyable.
For this project, meet at the church at 7:45 a.m. for a short service, dressed to work in the day's weather. Wear sturdy shoes, light clothes, hat, gloves (if you have them), and sunscreen. We'll supply water, snacks, and lunch back at the church at noon.
We will create squares to be sewn into blankets for children. This is for all ages and no experience is necessary. Come and be creative!

Raise awareness about water safety in cooperation with the Mesa Fire Department. We will walk the neighborhood distributing packets of water safety information.
For this project, come to the 9:00 service for a short worship service before we begin distribution in teams. Lunch will be provided for everyone at noon.
Every day the East Valley Men's Shelter feeds those in need. We will make and pack lunches for those who come for a meal. We will also be making lunch for all those who come to be part of this worldwide "Change the World" event.
