Way Beyond Stewardship

Stewardship can bring rewards far beyond using your time, talent, and resources.  Here's the story of Sean, a young man who came to our church in a time of need and is now giving back whenever he can.

A few words on the banner in front of our church caught his eye. . . "Divorce Care classes . . . "  He felt compelled to go into the office to find out if it was too late to enroll, how much it would cost, etc.  The pastor greeted him warmly and assured him that he could start the class at any time and at no cost to him.

Sean was going through a painful divorce and was at a low point in his life.  The leaders of Divoce Care gave him hope and encouraged him to attend the 10:30 worship service.  Sean had never attended church but experienced friendliness, warmth, and a general feeling of goodness whenever he was at a worship service.

After a few weeks, Sean decided to give back to the church that was helping him so much.  He began cleaning up after the pizza lunch that follows the 10:30 service and also started going to the 9:00 am Sunday School class.  This led to an invitation to be a cast member of the drama that was perormed on Holy Thursday.  Recently Sean was baptized and became a member of our church family.

How do I become a good steward?

  1. Look forward to the vision of what the church can become through its ministries in our community and throughout the world.
  2. Give generously of your time, talents, and treasure to help that vision come true.

How do I share my time and talents?

  1. Ask yourself "What is God calling me to do?"
  2. Print and complete the Time and Talent Brochure.
  3. Find out where the most pressing needs are by clicking on Ways to Get Involved.

How do I help fund the ministries and missions that are in the church's vision?

  1. Prayerfully consider how you can help financially.  Your generous offering is always welcome.  We encourage you to complete an Estimate of Giving card, available online and in the church office, that sets up your pledge for the coming year.
  2. You may, instead, complete the Electronic Giving form that provides a convenient way to contribute funds to the church.
  3. Find out about the particular needs of the church through Special Giving and make a direct donation.
  4. Designate your legacy funds through our Planned Giving Program.
